With the final announcement of seedings coming out today from the NJCAA, Region 10 sees five teams prepare for deep runs in their respective National Tournaments.
The DIII Men's Basketball tournament will kick off first being played on March 14-16, 2019 at Rochester Regional Sports Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Sandhills Community College, who won the Region 10 championship, clinched their trip by defeating Prince George's Community College in the District 7 title game. When the seedings came out, Sandhills drew the #7 seed and where matched up with the #2 seed Herkimer Community College (NY) who finished the season 28-1 and #2 in the polls. With back to back trips, Cape Fear Community College, earned the #7 seed in the DII Women's BAsketball tournament being played on March 19-23, 2019 the the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison, Arkansas. Cape Fear drew the #10 seeded Metropolitan Community College (MO) who finished 17-9 and won the District P championship by defeating the #16 ranked North Arkansas team. The DII Men's Basketball tournament will feature two teams from Region 10 with Pitt Community College winning the regular season and District XV championship and Wake Technical Community College winning the Region 10 tournament and District XIV tournament. Wake Tech enters the tournament being seeded the #8 seed and will take on the #9 seeded Niagra County Community College (NY) who finished 26-8 and won the District XII championship. Pitt earned the #15 seed in the tournament and drew the #2 seeded Johnson County Community College (KS) who finished 28-4 and ranked 3rd in the nation. The DII tournament will be held on March 19-23, 2019 at the Mary Miller Center in Danville, Illinois and will see both teams in action on Tuesday, March 19th. In the DI Men's Basketball tournament Cape Fear makes a return trip to the National Tournament played on March 18-23, 2019 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas. Cape Fear earned the #17 seed and drew #16 seeded Arizona Western who won the District I championship and finished with a 25-8 record.
