The Region was able to place 5 teams in the initial NJCAA Men's Basketball Polls for the upcoming 2017/18 season.  This group is highlighted by DII members Richard Bland College and Louisburg College.  Richard Bland enters the poll as the #2 ranking while Louisburg is just two spots behind at the #4 spot.  Louisburg was able to win the Region 10 regular season title while Richard Bland won the Region 10 tournament.  With both institutions earning bids to the National Tournament, both made the National Tournament semifinals and Richard Bland finished 4th while Louisburg fell in the championship game to finish 2nd.

In the DIII poll the region placed Davidson County Community College at #5 and Sandhills Community College at #9.  Davidson County is the defending Region 10 champion and finished 7th at the National Tournament.  In the DI poll, Spartanburg Methodist was named the #21 ranked team in the nation.
