The top seed Louisburg College was able to beat #3 seed Richard Bland in the Championship game this weekend played at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC. In a hard fought championship game Louisburg was able to pull out the 96-95 victory clinching them the Region 10 title. Louisburg reached the championship game by defeating the #4 seed Pitt Community College in a semifinal game 121-114 while Richard Bland topped #7 seed Fayetteville Tech 101-73 in the other semifinal game.
With the win Louisburg is named the District XIV champion. Since Louisburg was the regular season champion as well, Richard Bland claimed the District XV title and will advance to the National tournament with Louisburg. Both Louisburg and Richard Bland played in the National Tournament last season with Louisburg bringing home the runnnerup trophy and Richard Bland finishing 4th. Region 10 Champion Louisburg is named District XIV Champion. Since Louisburg won the tournament, the tournament runner-up, Richard Bland College will be named District XV Champion and receive a bid to the National Tournament. Louisburg College has already won a bid after claiming the Region 10 regular season title. The National Championship will be held in Danville, IL on March 20-24, 2018.
