The #1 seed in the DII Women's Basketball tournament (hosted by Lenoir CC; Kinston, NC), Cape Fear Community College, won the Region 10/District J Championship this past weekend with a 79-75 win over #3 seed Louisburg College. Cape Fear advanced to the championship by beating #8 seed Patrick Henry Community College in the Quarterfinals and then #5 seed Brunswick Community College in the semifinals.
With the win Cape Fear earns a berth in the National Tournament which will be played in Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison, Arkansas on March 20-24.
